Thanks for visiting. Rocky Mountain Rotorcraft (RMR) is a unique partnership of professionals dedicated to helicopter sales, professional flight services, maintenance and training with an emphases on Enstrom Helicopters. RMR was formed by Jack Ferguson and Andy Litteral (the authors) after years of flying, teaching and aircraft sales in the Rocky Mountain Region. Tired of being stuck on Colorado's front range we were looking for a line of helicopters that were reasonable to acquire and operate that would safely perform in Colorado's demanding mountain environment. Through flying numerous helicopters we became convinced Enstrom Helicopters were the best choice and began to operate a F28-C and the 280FX shark.
We loved the Enstrom's performance, safety record, acquisition/operating costs and good looks and worked with Enstrom to become an Enstrom dealership serving the Rocky Mountain Region. We understood expert helicopter service is fundamental and partnered with an established maintenance shop, Vector Air to manage the Enstrom Certified Service Center. Vector Air has ten plus years of Enstrom experience and has been expertly maintaining our ships for years.
In addition to sales and maintenance we also realized training was important and set up a small private flight school using the 280FX and 480B. We put a lot of time and effort into an exceptionally advanced curriculum built around the excellent performance of Enstrom helicopters in the mountain environment.
Rocky Mountain Rotorcraft is proud to be part of the Enstrom Helicopter dealership and service network. We have a combined 20 years in helicopter acquisitions, brokerage and flight training in a variety of models with an emphasis on Enstrom helicopters.
Our goal is to help find the best helicopter for our client's requires, whether it is acquired though us or not. We are here to provide expert guidance and industry knowledge in addition to training and service in order to develop a long term relationship with our customers.
We love flying and enjoy the opportunity to be a part of your helicopter flight experience though new or pre-owned helicopter acquisition, flight training, service, or just chatting over the phone.
RMR provides a variety of professional helicopter flight services including; aerial photography, scenic flights, real estate viewing, power line patrol, search and rescue and natural resources exploration support. We offer extremely competitive rates and operate in safe, friendly and professional manner. We run a fleet of Enstrom Helicopters including the piston powered 280FX and the turbine powered 480B.
RMR runs a small flight school based just north of Denver, Colorado at Erie Airport (KEIK). We fly the turbocharged Enstrom 280FX, Schweizer 300c, and the turbine powered Enstrom 480B. A majority of our training is off-airport, mountain-based flying surrounded by the highest peaks in the lower 48. In addition to our location north of Denver and a 10-minute flight from the Rockies, we also operate a mountain campus near Telluride, in South West Colorado.
We offer flight training from the initial private though certified flight instructor (CFI) and all ratings in between. We also provide mountain specific courses for pilots with previous flight experience and Enstrom only courses for pilots interested in these wonderful helicopters. In addition we are partnered with a fixed wing flight school at our Erie location making it very convenient for pilots looking to obtain multiple ratings or use an airplane to build hours.
Erie Tri-County Municipal Airport is a sleepy, uncontrolled airfield that provides an excellent home base with uncrowded skies while being minutes from class Bravo and Delta airspace of Denver International Airport and Rocky Mountain Metro. We don't have a tower telling us where and how to fly but have excellent opportunities to practice radio skills and flight procedures at these nearby airports. Our mountain campus near Telluride offers high altitude flying between 8,000 and 12,500 MSL on private land that covers over 10,000 acres of spectacular alpine terrain.
We look for the right fit between your goals as a pilot and our flight training programs. If we believe your requirements will be better served at a different school, we'll certainly tell you this. We are not a pilot factory and take a limited number of students each year to ensure the best possible training environment, which means access to helicopters, flexibility in scheduling, and a truly customized program based on your goals.
